Manic Street Preachers and Suede to co-headline massive summer shows





Both bands will be taking to the stage at Castlefield Bowl for a big summer show

Iconic rock bands the Manic Street Preachers and Suede will be co-headlining a huge show in Manchester next summer.

As part of a seven-date tour together, both bands will perform at Castlefield Bowl next year on July 12. The UK and Ireland tour will also see them perform at Cardiff Castle and London’s Alexandra Palace Park.

Since their formation in 1986, the Manic Street Preachers have gone on to be one of the most influential Welsh bands. Over the span of 14 albums, their back catalogue includes hits like A Design for Life, If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next, You Stole the Sun from My Heart and Your Love Alone Is Not Enough.

The three-piece band, fronted by James Dean Bradfield, are currently working on their 15th studio album, which will be the follow up to ‘The Ultra Vivid Lament’ which entered the UK charts at number one in September 2021.

Suede, led by Brett Anderson, won the Mercury Music Prize for their self-titled debut album in 1993 - which also earnt a record at the time for the fastest-selling debut in nearly ten years.

A pinnacle member of the 90s Britpop scene, Suede are known for songs including Stay Together, Electricity, Trash, Beautiful Ones and Saturday Night. They have released nine studio albums, including 2022's critically acclaimed Autofiction.

For the tour, both acts will take turns to close the show. Manic Street Preachers will close out gigs at Llangollen, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Manchester, with Suede closing out Dublin, Leeds and London.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale from 9am on Friday, October 13. Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster. Tickets are thought to start at around £65.
