MOLLY BURCH 'DAYDREAMER' ALBUM REVIEW

Molly Burch's fourth album, "Daydreamer," set to release on September 29 via Captured Tracks, is nothing short of moving. Following her 2021 release, "Romantic Images," this latest offering is a significant step forward in Burch's evolution as an artist. The album, produced by Wild Nothing's Jack Tatum, takes listeners on a journey of self-reflection and discovery, inspired by her move back to Los Angeles and the unearthing of her teenage diaries. "Daydreamer" serves as a heartfelt homage to her younger self, resulting in a record that radiates true beauty.

One of the standout elements of the album is Molly Burch's shimmering vocals, which consistently take center stage throughout. Her voice weaves effortlessly through choppy guitars, synth-driven pop songs, and the delightful addition of horns and strings, creating a lush and captivating musical landscape.

Among the standout tracks on the record and there is a few is , "Tattoo" it is a poignant gem. Dedicated to her late best friend, Lena, it is an exquisite ballad adorned with the most beautiful harp and piano melodies and haunting backup vocals provided by Hannah Kim (Luna Li). The song's emotional depth and intricate arrangement make it a standout moment on the album for me.

"Daydreamer" as a whole is a beautiful record that effortlessly captures the essence of Molly Burch's captivating vocals and her vivid depictions of love. It's a testament to her growth as an artist and a poignant reminder of the power of introspection and self-discovery in the creative process. With its blend of nostalgia and contemporary sounds, "Daydreamer" is sure to leave a lasting impression on listeners,

Molly Burch has truly delivered a heartfelt and enchanting piece of artistry with this album.
